Honestly your suggestion of more humidity for this little (?) girl is noted and being to her area where she roams. She is 12 and weight roughly 35 lbs. Getting larger as she is when she craves additional attention (she loves) she will pull herself up in the large enclosed area she is in.  When on her back legs, the shell being tipped with points, two points press in to her back legs it at times has been enough to break the skin open.  Oh she is fine put bag balm on the broken skin, but am wondering if one uses a large file ( a rasp) for finishing a horses hooves. If the sharp edge can just be gently files in those two spots.  Just to keep them from poking into her rear legs.  Not the whole shell but just two points on the back of her shell.  I have sent a pic to give you an idea what breed she is.  Really, you feedback is GREATLY APPRECIATED@@# She was rescued for horrible conditions and now knows YES some humans are kind.  Tries to climb from her large squared off  corral to seek arrention. With such a great new home and family she just is like a kitten when she is tucked in.The file in question is large, sharp and steel.  Is designed for finishing off the rough edges of a horses hoof. One side of this rasp is designed to give a fine finish.  Very gentle to use.  Hope this helps in giving you a better idea with what I mean.  Thanks Much

Answer
Ah, your last question left me quite confused. This is much better.

Normally, we would not file the shell, but in this case, rounding off a little sharp overgrowth is OK.

The file you describe should work fine! You already know to go lightly and not file deeply into the actual bone, so it should be OK.

Good luck!
