Question
clover
well she is an indoor turtle but we take her outside a lot, she is good at hiding and finding food so I think she'd be okay to be in the wild, it's just i don't know a good place to put her with the environment falling apart and all.
My dad said she is a south carolina turtle but I have no idea so I'll send you a picture:

Its just in her aquarium she looks bored and is always staring out the window, so I don't want her to be bored all the time that's why.
i live in michigan btw...everything is rapidly expanding due to "progress", so i can't put that much faith in nature centers staying open. are protected wetlands even "protected" anymore?
AnswerHi,
The short answer is no. A captive reptile cannot be returned to the wild because it carries a high risk of transferring pathogens to any wild populations, even if it is a native species. Aside from that, while the picture is somewhat unclear, it looks like you have a tortoise. If you can post back with a very clear picture from the side, and then another picture of the plastron (bottom shell), I can ID it for you.
If you are keeping it in a small tank, the enclosure is too small for it to display any natural behaviors. If I can ID it for you, I can give you better care information, but if you don't want it any more, it would be best to contact a reptile rescue to help you find a good home with experience.
