Question
Hi, My 3yr old Herman appears to have gone into hibernation. I bath him to try to rally him round, he livens up for a few minutes then back to bed! what worries me the most is he's not eating.

The heating and u/v everything is as it should be.
He came out of hibernation at the end of January, and has eaten well up untl June.
What am I doing wrong?
Is this summer rest? or has he got his seasons wrong.
Your help and advice would e appreciated.

Answer
"Everything is as it should be" is useless information frankly. You must quantify if you want anyone to make heads or tails of that, else how do we know that you know what that is?

Everything is not right, because these tortoises don't just go into hibernation at random. It sounds more like failure to maintain POTZ and now he is sick. In tortoises what you are describing is often fatal. Veterinary treatment is probably going to be the only way to recover now.
