my red eared slider has white stuff coming of of him

i have a new red eared slider that is about 5 or 6 inches long and i have a filter in his cage and white bacteria like things are in his cage i don't no what to do and i don't no if hes sick or he is dying   
please help me

The worms could be coming from the turtle- either parasites, or something it ate- or from the food. Some cheap food is not much more than small white ant eggs.

An occasional burst of worms is not usually a big deal, but if it keeps happening you will need to have the turtle looked at by a vet for the right worming medication.
