Hundorus Turtle

Hi, My turtle, Helen, likes to sleep with her head in her water, so I took her outside in my pond and let go of her. She sank to the bottom. I was afraid she would drown so I took her out but she seems to love being under the water. If I leave her in  my pond for more than a few minutes what do I need to do for her so she will not drown?

Most turtles cannot drown- they can hold their breath for hours, but they won't drown unless they get trapped underwater or something.

There are a few species of turtle that WILL drown, but these generally don't like to play in the water anyway.
