worms in Turtle cage

I have this little white worms in my turtle cage and they just swim around.  And today i went to feed him and all these bugs came out.  They were flying bugs with red bodys, and they were little. I thought they were knats then i saw a biiger one of those, can you please tell me what they might be?!?!?

There are a lot of pests, worms, etc. that can infest a turtle habitat and I am not an expert on them. You might want to try http://www.turtleforum.com where you can talk to several experienced water turtle keepers.

They will want to know species, size, housing, etc.
