QuestionHi Betty,
I just got a pair of female gliders. Do I have to worry about them going into heat when they reach maturity? What will their behavior be like? Will they need to be fixed even though I don't plan on ever having them near any male gliders? Thanks.
AnswerNiccoli,
Sorry this is a bit late, my computer was out for a while.
Sugar Gliders do not go into heat, but can mate at any time. You have no reason to have them altered. Besides, I don't think you would be able to find a vet who would perform such an operation on so small an animal. Only the males are altered, and it is a relatively simple procedure.
So, you have nothing to worry about! : )
