Question
QUESTION:   i just aquireed my first glider for my b-day, my sister inlaw gave him to me as a gift, he is only about 3 months old and very sweet, but i can only get him to  be arroused when i  make him come out its like i have to lead him to his food and water,

he will eats and drink but only if i  coax him to do so do you have any suggestions?

ANSWER: Kristi,

What time of day are you trying to feed your glider?  They are nocturnal, and don't usually wake up until around 10:00 - 11:00 in the evening.

I will be able to help you more if you give me more information.  Thanks!

Betty

QUESTION: well i too am a night person and  i  let him sleep during the day, but even then he is not very active

ANSWER: Kristi,

Okay, then you may have a problem.  There are so many things that could be causing him to be lethargic.  Diet is very important.  Also, he is very young, lives alone, and could be stressed.

What does he eat?

How big is his cage?

How often to you handle him?  Do you use a bonding pouch during the day?

How long has he been away from his family?

If you can let me know more about your glider, I'm sure we can come up with an answer.

Thanks!

Betty

Answer
I don't have a lot of time, I have guests this weekend.

Please order Zookeeper's Secret aka Zupreme from sugar-gliders.com.  It is soft, and won't harm teeth and gums.  Gliders also need protein, such as chicken, along with fresh fruits and vegetables.  Please check out the BML recipe found on my website:  nc.sugar.gliders.googlepages.com.

The cage is way too small for your glider to get sufficient room to exercise.  Do you at least have a Wodent Wheel for him?

He is lonely for his family.  Please get him a companion glider.

Please keep in touch,

Betty
