2 Males fighting

Question
I have had my first male joey for about 8 months (not
neutered). He has bonded pretty good with me. I was given
another male glider (8 weeks old) and I bought a huge cage
for the both of them. They are brothers, but not from the
same time. I put them both into the new cage at the same
time, and the older one will not keep off of the little guy.
He keeps pinning him on his back and then it becomes a
furball rumble until I break it up. Is there anything I can
do about it, or will they have to be separated?

Answer
Chris,

Generally, two males will not get along.  Since your two are brothers, it is possible that you could get them to bond.  Try the introduction process and see what happens.  If it still doesn't work, you will need to separate them or have one or both of them neutered.  Please read the introduction article found on my website: nc.sugar.gliders.googlepages.com.

Good luck, please keep in touch.
