Dads behaviour with joey

My Joey is only 6weeks out of the pouch and already beginning to get around a lot more.  She (she is female) was in the cage climbing around when her father got a grip of her and came behind her, this happened twice before he chased her back into the pouch.  Is the dad already trying to mate with her?  Will the Joey be ok left in the cage? Thank you

It would be very unusual for the father to try to mate with his daughter, particularly at this age.  Male gliders are normally wonderful parents.  Watch the situation carefully.  If he seems to be hurting her, you may need to separate them.
