Question
My mountain horned dragon eggs hatched in Sept. We had one baby survive.  The baby is doing well. He eats baby crickets and drinks and swims and plays. When he is resting he flatten his body almost completely flat. It does not seem to matter if he has just eaten or not. It scares me a lot when he does that. Why is he doing that? Is there something wrong with him?

Answer
Hello Desirae,

Where does he flatten his body out underneath his basking light?  If so, they do that to increase surface area in order to absorb more heat while basking.
Are you using UVB lighting?  If so what type & brand is it, a flourescent tube bulb or a compact or coil light?  How close is it to him?
What type of basking light are you using?
What are the temps, & what do you use to measure the temps with?  A stick on thermometer, a digital probe or a temp gun?
Do you supplement calcium on a regular basis weekly?
Can you post a picture of him for me?
