Bearded Dragon hurt

My boyfriend recently built our 2 bearded dragons an outdoor cage.We let the dragons hang out in there on nice days.One of them has nasty scrape on its mouth-its been weeks but its scabbed up and hasnt gone away.Is there anything we can use to clean it that wont hurt him?

Hello Alise,

You can use betadine & dilute it down to where it looks like weak tea.  Use that daily to clean the area with.  You can then get some antibiotic ointment such as neosporin or polysporin to put on the area, daily to help ward off infection & soften & heal the scales.
