no appetite and swollen leg

Question
Tripod, my 4 year old bearded dragon isn't well.  Her appetite has gone down in the last few months.  Her eyesite doesn't seem right because when she tries to eat a cricket she misses her target by about a 1/2 an inch.  I have to feed her with a syringe.  My biggest concern is her swollen right rear leg!  It is swollen from about the knee upwards.  She isn't able to use it.  she isnt moving her leg.. its swollen about twice the size.. has a little round redish thing... should i try to drain it?  I'm not able to take her to the vet financially and am hoping that I can do something for her at home.  Please help!  Thank you.

Answer
Hello YaVon,

Can you review her tank setup such as the type & brand of UVB light, the supplementation as well as the heating & temperatures?  That would be great.
Do you have any pictures of her you could send?  No, don't drain the area yet, let me see what it is looking like first.  Is it the entire leg area that is swollen, or just a small portion like what a bite would look like, etc?
Can she use the rest of her limbs normally?
I am glad to hear you are intervening & feeding her baby food right now.  What type are you giving, chicken or turkey baby food?  You can mix that with squash & or sweet potatoes, daily to help.  How is her weight?
Just guessing at the moment, it could be an infection, gout possibly, or even Metabolic bone disease.
Let me know how she is doing & about your tank setup.

Thanks.
Tracie
