Question
I have 2 frilled dragons a male and female that are about a year old now. I got them when they were about 4 months old. They are housed in a 2x2x4 screen cage with a basking area of 105 degrees basking bulb and uv from 2 reptisun 5.0 bulbs. The bottom of the cage is lined with peat moss which is change frequently. They have a large water bath and are fed crickets daily.I mist the cage twice daily. The female dragon had always been more active and colorful but for the past couple weeks she has been almost in a sleep. Her eyes are always closed and there looks to be a film on/over them. She moves around the cage about once a day. I have not seen her eat but isnt losing noticeable weight. When held she is very active and jumpy but has this film on her eyes and cant see. The male has no problem at all and goes about his usual business. I was wonder what is wrong with her and if there is a simple fix?
Thanks Matt

Answer
Hello Matthew,

Hm, that is very odd.  Are the Reptisun 5 UVB lights, tube bulbs or compact/coil lights?  How close does she usually get to the UVB lights?  How old are the UVB lights?
Do you use calcium supplementation?
What are you measuring the temperatures with, a stick on type of thermometer, a digital probe or a temp gun?  The recommended basking temperatures are 85-90 & the cooler end around 78 or so, with the humidity being at least 80% maintained regularly at that or they will dehydrate.
Is there any discharge from the eyes, or swelling?
Is she eating right now?
