QuestionI was wondering at what point the leopard gecko eggs become fertile? Do the geckos breed then develope eggs that become fertile or can a gecko have eggs in her and breed then the eggs be fertilized?
AnswerHello Dena,
The leopard gecko's eggs are fertilized at the time of copulation most of the time, unless they really didn't have a successful copulation.
There are already follicles, & will become fertilized upon copulation & then the eggs will become dropped & released & go through the shelling gland where they will be laid approximately 4-5 weeks later.
I hope that helps. :-))
