Question
hi, I just managed to step on a baby blue tongue lizard in my yard. its not using its back legs now but was alive afterwards and used front legs to back away from me, into some leaves. I need to know if it would be ok, as it was still alive. I dont know what part I stepped on, but it was angry. Do you know if it is likely to recover? I am very upset about this, as they are breeding in my yard. Thank you, Kathy.

Answer
Reptiles are very resiliant animals, and can hang on for a long time when seriously or fatally injured.  Since it wasn't using its back legs, it may have a broken back or pelvis.  Only a wildlife vet can treat that, and if there are other internal injuries, it may not be survivable.  If you find it, take it to a wildlife rehabilitation center.
