Whites Tree Frog Vs Cane or Green Toad

Question
Hi, sorry to bother you -I know your a reptile expert -not amphibian, but I don't know who else to ask on such short notice.
I am considering getting one of three -a pet Cane Toad, a couple of Green Toads, or a couple of White's Tree Frogs. I have an 8 month old and am pregnant, and am worried about the toxic secretions of the toads but haven't heard much about the frog being as toxic.
Could you help me learn which is the least toxic and if it would be unsafe to handle any of them while pregnant?
 thanks, ~Karen

Answer
Hi Karen,
All reptiles and amphibians can carry salmonella so good hand washing is a must for any owner.
With you being pregnant, the risk is greater so I suggest you wait until later to consider frogs or any reptile/amphibian as a pet.
As far as I know, all three species have toxin glands as a defense as do most frogs and toads, if not all of them.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frog has some good info on frogs/toads.Hope this helps you out!!
