Not eating greens!!

Question
Hi, my name is Kimberly and I have been in contact with Diane who referred me to you about a bearded dragon question. Diane already gave me the care sheet on bearded dragons. We got our baby Mustang last month and on the 10th of this month he will be three months old. I have been putting a mixed green diet everyday in his cage and have done this before adding crickets, but he will have nothing to do with it. He is a very spunky boy and I want to keep him that way. We have a very good reptile vet, but have not had him in yet. Any advise on what I could do??

For a picture of Mustang and my green iguana Chevy they can be found on www.myspace.com/dolphin18073

Thank you in advance for any advise you can give!

Answer
I looked at your pics and must say that Mustang and Chevy are both rather handsome.
You might try and spritz the salad with the mister to make it move. The movement, plus if he's thirsty, will make him lick the water off the greens, and if the greens are minced well enough, some will get into him and it will bring the idea that what is in the bowl is food.  Something red like finely diced red bell pepper may also attract him.
What do you feed the crickets?  Whatever they eat also nourishes the beardie, so add some salad to their diet.  A three month old needs lots of protein, so he will definitely hold out for crickets as much as he can.  Sounds like the breeder didn't start him out on salad.
My first beardie was that way.  He just would toss his salad out of his bowl.  Then one day, he decided he loved butternut squash, and wound up eating everything.  So relax with it, Mustang looks good.
