Question
My one year old panther chameleon has had swollen lips and seems to have lost all his color in the past month I am wondering what I should do? He also has abrasions on his feet from climbing on my previous cages metal screen top I have been treating them with the "repti-wound healing aid" by zoomed the condition has seemed to be getting better but now they seem to be only slightly better then they where what should I do to heal them? MY chameleon has also been losing his appetite. The temperature in my reptirium cage has been at a stable 77-80 degrees F and humidity is usually around 50-60% and all lighting is UVB,if that helps at all.
Thank you so much for hearing me let me know anything ASAP
from Dan

Answer
Hello Daniel,

Do you have any pictures of your chameleon for me?  That would help.  Has he shed recently?
The best thing to help heal wounds is an antibiotic ointment used daily.  You could also soak him in a diluted betadine solution to help heal his feet too.  What type of tank does he have, mesh, etc?
What are you measuring the temperatures with, a stick on type of thermometer, a digital probe or a temp gun?
What type & brand of UVB do you have?  A fluorescent tube bulb or a compact/coil light?  How old is it?
Are you supplementing calcium & multivitamins, separately?
The humidity looks pretty good, it might could come up just a tad, but overall it isn't bad.  Are you using a drip type of system for him to drink water?
What type of substrate do you use for him?
