our Chinese Water Dragon

Question
Our baby Chinese Water Dragon has continuous dry skin that is peeling.  I know that it is normal as they grow, but this seems excessive.  Is our dragon lacking something in his diet? He eats wax worms and meal worms dipped in calcium and an occasional cricket.  He also ate a bunch (about 6) of fresh baby peas about a month ago. His dry skin is very brown and what we see underneath is green.  He is approximately all brown except his head and neck, and he has lost two toes on his front foot.  We try to keep his humidity level between 70 and 80. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Elizabeth

Answer
Hello Elizabeth,

I do need to know your tank setup.
The humidity level of 70-80 is fine.  What type of lighting do you have in there for him?  Do you have a UVB light?  If so, what type & brand are you using, & is it a flourescent tube light or a compact or coil light?  I need the specific brand.
Do you have a bright white basking light or a colored light for basking?  What do you measure the temps with?  What are the temps, currently?
If he has lost 2 toes, he must be missing something in the setup & or diet.  The lack of color means, he is stressed & probably not at the proper temperatures.  Could he have caught his toes on something, in the tank?  How do the other toes look?
Are you using calcium supplementation?
Do you have a water bowl on the bottom of the tank for him, & how large is the tank?  What type of substrate is he on?
How many feeders will he eat daily?
Is there any swelling of the hands, feet, or limbs?
