Question
Hey,
I've been considering getting a new pet, like a frog!  what would be the best kind to start with???  Also I need to know if all frogs (especially the one you recommend)can spreed any sort of diseases to humans??? thank you very much and please respond ASAP!

Answer
Hi,
thank you for your question.
Frog do not carry disease that are  transmitted to humans. They should not be touched anyway since their skin is very delicate and it stressed them a lot. It's also possible to react allergic to the toxins every  frog secretes (most are not toxic for humans, though).

What kind of frog do you like? There are aquatic frogs, ground-living frogs, tree frogs - how much room can you offer to it? That's a very important question because if you don't have much room, many frogs will fall out of the selection. Tree frogs are often very loud at night when it's their mating season and many are too loud to be kept in an apartment building.
http://allaboutfrogs.org/info/index.html has a lot of general info on frog care and many species caresheets, it's a good place to start with and choose a frog species. After that, you can get more information on that particular species, set up a tank and look for a breeder. Pet shops are not ideal places to get a pet because they often sell sick animals and generally don't know much about the animals they sell.

The website also recommend a few frogs for beginners and I agree with their choice: White's Tree Frog, African Dwarf Frog and Firbellied Toads do make good frogs/toads for beginners. Don't choose a frog just from its looks, many attractive species are very difficult to keep.
I hope I was of some help to you
