chuckawalla lizards

I used to live in the desert 40 some odd years ago and I'd swear I remember the chuckawalla lizards would carry sticks in their mouth and they used them to stand on when their feet would get hot. I've told some friends here in Arkansas about it and nobody believes me. Have I just imagined this as happening or is it true?

I am sorry for such a late reply.

I do not know much about these lizards in the wild and their habits perhaps you can contact the fish and wildlife agency in that area and see if they would know.

I have never heard of this but it's not impossible.
