Juvenile Female Chinease Green Water Dragon

Question
Hey, this most likely isn't a problem, my baby girl has a big personality! However, she is a little over half a year old, and she has become obsessed with this new thing, holding her mouth open for varied periods of time. I have tried to give her water from her spray bottle, but she closes up immediately now when she sees it. I have tried feeding her, but that's not it either. She is growing fast so she sheds like crazy, so I thought maybe she may have some dead skin around her nostrils (as this has happened with our beardie before, but I really don't know. Like I said she is a character and a half, so I was wondering do you think there is a reason behind it, is she mad about something, is she trying to look intimidating #which it doesn't work she just too cute! :)) or any ideas?
Thanks
ash

Answer
Hi Ashley,
There are a few things that can cause this. http://www.triciaswaterdragon.com is a good site to read over for decent care.

1.To high of temperatures....  double check your temperatures to make sure they are correct.

2.To low of temperatures.... this can cause respiratory infections.  Generally your WD will      breath heavy..may have a mucous discharge from her nose and of course many not want to eat.

3. Possible mouth infection... check her mouth for any redness.

4. Fear...try to find out what is scaring her, be it reflection in the glass or something else and try to correct it.

5.  And..as you said...acting tough and trying to scare you. This, you will just work through and not let her think you are afraid of her!
