QuestionHi Andy!
My guinea pig who is approx. 6 weeks old, was recently found to have mites. We treated her and she still had some so we treated her again, but mites usually need two treatments. Anyways, She had a bit of dryness under her eye, like flaking dry skin. Me,being a sort of animal freak, know that dry skin can be signs of mites, ringworm, or just plain dryness. Are there any signs that i can look for to distinguish any of these problems from another? Because i know at the beginning they are pretty much the same.

AnswerHi Jacqueline
Having done a bit of reading on the subject for you, mites can quite often be identified by a red, sore looking skin and some hairloss, but as you say, the flakiness could be the start of mites.
The best plan is to let a professional look at your pig.
All the best
