This may sound really stupid I have bread guinea pigs many times , But* do the the pelvic bones bart both in the back and in the front * and if only in the front how far apart?

Thank you for your question and of course it isn't stupid!

When they talk about guinea pigs pelvis bones fusing, that is if they haven't bred before and haven't given birth. If they give birth before the bones fuse, then they wont have to worry about them fusing in the future.

The bones that seperate, separation of the pelvic bone about 25mm (1") indicates birth should occur in 2-3 days.

Unfortunately I am unable to answer your question about weither or not the front or back seperate. I would assume the front 100% sure, but not completly sure about the back.
