Think about get a pig

I am looking for the perfect pet for my kids. We live in an apartment and have heard a guinea pig would be a good choice. What do you think.What do I need to expect after getting a pig. My biggest question is can they be left for a weekend alone and be alright? thank you Lane

    Guinea pigs and Iguanas are two very good choices. Guinea pigs can be left alone for one day. I wouldn't say a weekend. A good idea would be to have someone drop in to see if they have food and water. That would be the best thing I could think of. Another good idea would be for you to get a guinea pig guide on how to take care of guinea pigs so you have the knowledge to own a piggie and pass on that knowledge to you kids. I think you made a great choice on what animal to buy for your kids. You should expect having to clean the guinea pig ever other day, feed & water it everyday and playing with you piggie at least for one hour per day.
