Possible mites

Hi,
 I have two guinea pigs that live together. One is showing missing fur in a pattern of a V. I was told that he has mites. I see nothing crawling on him or his bother and they are both missing fur. I have 7 other guinea pigs that are around them and none of them are missing fur or showing any signs of mites. I have caught the two brothers pulling each other's fur out. Is it possible that the V shape is just a coincidence?

oh tough one, if it were me id just sit down one day and watch them for a good hour, if you notice them jump slightly like they have had an electric shock, scratch often and shake their heads like dogs do then its mites, otherwise it is most likly fighting.

something to bear in mind if any of the pigs around them are female then that is why they are fighting, males cannot be around one another if their is the scent or visual of a female.
