Hamster with swolen eye

Question
Hello,
I don't know if you know anything about Chinese dwarf hamsters, but my hamster is very sick. She doesn't act sick, but her eye looks dried out, but not crusty, and not wrinkled. The other thing is she can't shut it. It is swolen and is larger than the other eye.
Hope you can help!
Thanks

Answer
There is a possibility that she could have either an eye infection, eye irritation, or allergies. This could be caused by a number of things, including dust and particles from her bedding. I would mention it to your vet, and bring her in for an exam if he feels it is necessary, as there could be other underlying problems that are causing the eye to be this way.

Hope this helps!
