Question
My dwarf hamster had 9 pups 5 days ago. During those 5 days i think she has eaten 3 of them. (either that, or i just cant find them) So here's my question... if a pup wanders away from the nest and UNDER a huge pile of bedding, will the mom still be able to find it and bring it back to the nest?
Also, why does mom keep jumping off the accessories and acting really hyper?

please answer ASAP. It would really help a lot.

thank you.

Answer
Yes, the mother will be able to find her pup. As to her eating the babies. This is actaully normal in hamsters. The mother will eat some, sometimes all of the babies, because she feels like she can't care for them all. Her hyperness is just a side effect of being pregnant. After 16-18 of little to no excercise, she is just letting out excess energy.
