Would placing the hamster cage in the high traffic kitchen be ok? Are hamsters
sensitive to noise, heat and light?

Hi Naera,

I would avoid placing the cage in the kitchen.  Kitchen lights tend to be bright.  Also, when cooking, the room heats up, and hamsters are sensitive to heat (like you suspected).  And, loud noises tend to make hamsters stressed.  Instead, try to place the cage in a fairly dim, temperate room (like someone's bedroom).
