Hyper Female Hamster

Question
I have a Female White Dwarf Hamster about 10 months old who has already given birth to some twenty pups in 5 litters. After the most recent litter she escaped from the cage for two days and when we returned he she promptly killed one of the pups (10 days old). We seperated her immediately and raised the other pups by hand but she hasn't been the same. For the past 10 days since she has become very aggressive, biting anything that comes near and bouncing around (trying to get out).
My mother worries she might be ill and might infect us with her bites.
Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Eli,

i'm not sure if she could have picked up any disease / infection when she got out.  What country are you in?  Hve you got any other pets?

My hamster recently escaped and was quite aggresive when she was recaptured and i think this was because she didnt want to be recaptured and put back in her tank - but she was fine the next day once she got used to being in her tank again - so i dont know why your hamster has been like it for 10 days, maybe you should take her to the vets to be on the safe side?

Also, i wouldnt breed from her anymore - i think 5 liiters is more than enough for one hamster to have, she is probably very exhausted and will probably not take very well to the strain of having another litter - especially when she is still only 10 months old!!!

Experts recommend no more than 5 litters in one lifetime!!!

Hope i have been some help.
