My hamsters babies

Mty hamster had babies around 20 days ago. We have a little white hamster in the litter. This baby has not opened its eyes yet. Should we be concered? How do we treat it?

Hi Amanda,

    First, I would try rubbing a wet Q-tip over the eyelids (from outside corner to nose) and see if that helps. So not try to pry open the eyelids with your fingers because a hamsters eyelids are very delicate and can tear easily. If this does not work, then I would suggest consulting with a vet to see what else you could do.
