late night hamster

Question
I got a hamster 2 weeks ago - and all is going well apart from she only comes to life at about 11pm each day! I know hamsters are nocturnal, but is there a way I can get her to be more sociable slightly earlier in the evening? I try coaxing her out with food, but she's really not interested. I'm out at work all day - so I can only assume that she is sleeping during the day, and not having a party without me there! thanks!

Hi Jenny,

    Have you tried coaxing her with more appealing foods like pieces of apple, carrot or bananas? If not, try using them to coax her out. With my hamsters, I just go to their cage and start talking to them in a soft voice and soon they are poking their heads out of their nest and usually come out within a couple minutes.
