Question
I have rescude 2 ferrets from a guy who can no longer take care of them. He was feeding them cat food. but now they are eating ferret food. my gray ferret and nice a plumpy i cant feel any bones and hes wicked hyper and always on the move. But my white one is so skinny i can feel her ribs and spine. and shes not as active as my other one & after i give her a bath and dry her off she will sit there rocking back and forth and not move at all. She coughs all the time. my boyfriend said she is prob old. they guy who i got them from said they where both 3 years old. should i take her to the vet?

Answer
I would take her to the vet. The rocking does not seem normal in a healthy ferret. Is she weak? Does she eat well? Use the potty normally?

Does her cough sound dry? wet? or like she is trying to cough something up?

Yes I would take her to the vet... It could be something as simple as a common cold or something more serious. Even if she is older than the person you got her from she shouldn't be lethargic, coughing and rocking after a bath these are all signs of illness.

Good luck with your ferret I hope she gets well soon.
