do ferrets get along with miniture dachshund

hello before i buy a ferret i need to know is my 2 year old miniature dachshund will get alone with him/her. my dog has a excellent personality and never bites me or any. he is also over protective of me.

Generally, dogs and ferrets can spend some supervised playtime together, BUT only supervised.  Dogs can see a ferret as prey, especially a dachshund that was originally bred for hunting.  I would only ever allow them time together if someone is available to watch them carefully.
