QuestionI really want her to stop biting. She is 8 months old and I cant even get her out of her cage with out her leaping around to bite and she will hold on and not let go. I understand not to throw her so I let her but I cant keep getting bite like I am, is there another solution instead of bitter apple because bitter apple does not phase her at all =[
AnswerFerrets usually bite for a specific reason. Without knowing how long you have had her and the cage set-up, play time routine etc I can only make a guess as to why she is biting. Most ferrets bite because of a lack of exercise/enrichment. They get bored and frustrated in their cage which leads to the over-excited ferret biting. Or they are ready to play and run around and are not ready to be picked-up and held or cuddled until they have expended some of that pent up energy. So, make sure she is getting a lot of physical and mental stimulation, lots of play time out of the cage, and no forced holding/cuddling until she is ready.
