Ferret Poop Consistency

Just lately, my Ferret's stool has been very soft and I've noticed she's been going A LOT more than usual.  Could it be because we're giving her cat treats or she's in her cage a lot during the day when we work, or is something else wrong?  Help!!

Hi Sam:

As a ferret parent, one of the first things we learn is to watch each and every poop they do - however gross that seems.  Any change in poop justifies a visit to the vet.  Be sure to take a fresh poop sample with you so the vet can see exactly what you are talking about - it could be many many things causing diarrhea.....anything from emotional upset to intestinal parasites or irritable bowel syndrome and a myriad of other things.  Definitely a trip to the vet as soon as possible is warranted here.
