Question
I recently purchsed two ferrets from Petco, they were bred at Marshall Farms, i have one female and one male, the male is pretty calm but the female is very aggressive, she bites my boyfriend for now particular reason. SHe bites me but latches on to my skin and pulls, like shes playing, and she shakes my skin. Both of them use the litter box, sometimes but a lot of times they go right next to it. I do not know why the female acts the way she does. If i give her time out or tell her no i wave my finger but she keeps doing the biting. What should I do about her and the male, both with biting and going to the bathroom not near the box

Answer
I need more inforamtion to help out.  How old are the ferrets?  If you mean she bites for no reason in that you are happily sitting on the sofa and out of nowhere she bites or do you mean when you are playing she suddenly bites?  Ferrets don't see very well so your hand or arm may suddenly appear in her view and she feels threatened so she bites or by you waving a finger in front of her she thinks you wnat her to chase you.  Ferrets play rough with each other and biting is common play activity - she probably needs positive lessons in not biting or she is biting for a specific reason.  She also may be young and very playful - instead of playing with your hands use a toy or shirt.  Hand feed her - her regular food to help associate hands with nice things and please never hit her.  Give me a run down of a daily routine too.

Litter - How much research did you do about ferrets before purchasing?  Almost every book states clearly that ferrets are not cats and will not always use their litter box.  There are some books I can suggest to assist in litter training, but again I need to know a bit more - the answers to my initial questions as well as a daily routing, cage size, play time, when she bites (time of way), where she bites (on you) etc
