re ferret pregnancy

hi cindy
i have recently become a owner of two ferrets one female the other make  they were both being sold by a young woman who didnt want them anymore they have been checked by vets and are well the young woman i brought them from said they were a breeding pair the ferrets have mated the last few weeks and the female is being so playful and cuddly right now i am not sure if this is a sign of her being pregnant or a phantom pregnancy she used to be nippy and not wanting attention for any human her personality has change for the better please am i right in thinking she is ???

Her cuddly behavior could be the pregnancy or the fact that she is getting used to you.  It is impossible to say, especially since she is a new addition to your household.  I have not heard if preganacy can change behavior like that in ferrets, but since there are many hormones at work, it is a possibility.  

Regardless, it is a good thing... cuddly is much better than nippy any day!  Good luck with the new babies too, when they come along.  They should be lots of fun.
