Do baby ferrets have baby fat that they lose once they get older?

Hello Michelle!

In response to your question, every ferret is different.  Some slim down as they approach adulthood, while others get rolly and plump.  Ferrets also can loose or gain weight (up to a pound!) with the change in seasons.  

Make sure your ferret is eating a proper diet (this is essential) and that he or she is maintaining a good energy level and appetite.  Even if there is a decrease in weight, as long as it is not severe, it is likely natural (or seasonal).
