Question
Hello. I have a ferret named Myles and he's one and a half years old. I recently ran out of the food he was eating, and replaced it with a different kind that I had in my house. I noticed that he was eating the new kind of food, but then all of a sudden he just stopped. I got really nervous so I decided to go to the pet store and get the old food, which was no longer there, so I brought a different kind home. He hasn't eaten any of that either. I've noticed that he's barely even drinking water. He still acts perky and seems fine but I'm starting to get really worried. He usually eats so much but all of a sudden he's not eating anything :[ His last poop has been runny and very small. The current food that I have now is "Ultimate Crunchy advanced nutrition diet for ferrets"

Answer
Hi Kevin,

It sounds like Myles is a finicky eater...just like every other ferret out there! Haha. Anyway, ferrets tend to imprint on the food they eat. They don't identify anything else as food. That is why, when there is a food switch, they have such an issue with it. They don't think it is food. What food were you feeding to him before? Maybe I can help you find it. Let me know and then we'll discuss options.

Sincerely,
Emilee Andrews
