ferrets imitating other ferret behavoir

Question
I know ferrets learn by imitation as kits however, is it possible for a ferret to imitate another ferrets behavior  after it was gone? I ask because I have a 5 yr old albino who suddenly loss his best ferret friend yesterday. Today he has been occasionally disoriented (shaking his head & rubbing his face) and then he'll do something very out of his nature. He's normally a brawler. He has a gait like a pit bull. He's not a face kisser- never was. Today he kisses faces- no treat reward has ever been offered to any of them for this. However Ghost is now displaying this behavior (on command even)- I only ever saw Odin do it! I have no explanation.  They were best friends so I don't know if he's imitating behavior he saw Odin do, but if so why? Little things like grooming the new baby- Ghost hates the new baby- today he groomed him. I just about fell over. I accidentally called for Odin and Ghost came running over and gave me a ton of kisses. I asked my vet but she hasn't heard of this either. Have you? If you need more info I can give you more details- I'm trying to be brief.

Answer
It could be a response to the loss, I hesitate to say grief, but I am sure he notices Odin is missing and this may be his reaction.  I would be really interested to know if it lasts - contact me again in a month to let me know if he is his "old self" or if the behavior has remained.
