Male or Female?

Question
Hi  i have a ferret named bandit. when i got bandit a year ago the pet store guy told me that he was a boy. now im not so sure thats true. i tried and i cant tell if he is a she. bandit has a marking on hes/her ear. and i dont c
anything that can pin point if he's a male. its killing me !! i have to find out. so i can stop calling him my lil man if my lil man is my lil girl.

Hi and thanks for writing.......with ferrets it's pretty easy to tell the difference between males and females. Males have a penis about 1/3 of the way up the abdomen; females have a vulva with a little cross or 'X' on it just above the anus. Also, males are generally significantly bigger than females. If your ferret weighs more than 1.5 pounds or so, it's unlikely to be a female. If you're still unsure, bring your ferret to a pet store or shelter that has both males & females and compare your ferret's private parts.  :-)
