Question
Hi, I recently owned a ferret for 7 years and he become very ill with incurable diease and he passed away 8 months ago and I have been intrested in getting a new one. But to my disadvantage there's nobody who has ferrets in Southern Ohio where I live and there all adults and I want to buy a baby ferret. Is there anyway you could help me~!?!?

Answer
Hi, and thanks for writing. Here's a website for the ferret shelter in Cleveland which lists all the ferret shelters in Ohio as well as other sources (such as Petfinder) for finding ferrets to adopt. One or more of these people should have an answer for you. Ask them to recommend a ferret breeder for you, too, if it's not possible to find a baby ferret at a local shelter.

Finally, I strongly recommend that you get two ferrets if you're interested in very young ones instead of just one; ferrets are extremely social and do best in pairs & groups:

Good luck,
