Ferret jill obsessive behaviour

Question
QUESTION: OK, so Ive had my Jill Little for nearly 2 years now, I found her on deaths door in a field by my house and nursed her back to health , she has been in perfect health for a while, she recently went through a phantom pregnancy and was dragging me and my boyfriend into her "nests" and shouting at us if we didn't do what where told, she was doing all the standard "mummy ferret" behavior, I thought it would be a good time to introduce her to a new kit and it worked out very well and she seems a lot happier. The only thing is, shes calmed down a lot but is still very obsessed and I'm worried that she'll never calm down! maybe I'm just being paranoid but i was just wondering if you have ever known anything like this before?
Thanks very much for your help

ANSWER: I am not sure what she is still doing that you are asking me about?  What do you mean by obsessed?  I am not sure where you are located, but she needs to be spayed ASAP since an intact female that isn't mated or given the "jill jab" will develop a fatal illness.

QUESTION: I'm sorry I wasn't that clear before i just mean shes very obsessed with the baby still like dragging it around and licking him etc i was just wondering if this was unusual after that amount of time the kit is 8 weeks old now. She had her jill jab around march april time and had a phantom pregnancy after that. when do the phantom pregnancy symptoms usually wear off? and sorry i live in the Uk.
Thank you

Answer
Ok, I get it!  Thanks.  I am guessing part of it may be remnants of the hormones and the phantom pregnancy.  I see a lot of sexual behavior in recently neutered males.  It is possible, although unlikely since she isn't spayed, that she has adrenal.  You often see similar behaviors in an adrenal ferret.  As long as neither she not the kit are being hurt (physically) then I wouldn't worry about it too much.  When the kit is old enough, he will let her know it is time to stop "being mom"!
