I am a seventh grader at Cedar Park Christian School, and I would like to ask you a few questions for my Speech class. Thank you for your time I hope I am not too much of a bother.

1.   What should be in their cages?
2.   When do you think ferrets are the most active?
3.   Which is more playful a male of female ferret? Why?
4.   How far can they see in the light? Dark?
5.   What do they eat?
6.   When you drive where should they be in your car?
7.   Would you like a ferret or another animal as a pet? Why?
8.   Do ferrets have tantrums? If yes what do they do?
9.   What do ferrets drink?
10.   How do ferrets climb?
11.   Do ferrets like to take things? If yes why do you think so?
12.   Is it better to have a neutered or non-neutered ferret?
13.   How do you entertain a ferret?
14.   What provokes them?
15.   How quickly do they fall asleep

17.   Where should you not let a ferret go in your house?

I will answer most of these, but I also suggest you find other sources for information.
1. What should be in their cages?
Hammock, water bottle, food dish, litterboxes, ferret safe toys.
2. When do you think ferrets are the most active?
Ferrets are crepuscular.
3. Which is more playful a male of female ferret? Why?
Never noticed a difference.
4. How far can they see in the light? Dark?
Not sure - you'd have to find a science study for that
5. What do they eat?
Ferrets are carnivores.
6. When you drive where should they be in your car?
They should be in a pet safe carrier.
7. Would you like a ferret or another animal as a pet? Why?
I have ferrets are pets
8. Do ferrets have tantrums? If yes what do they do?
You can't ascribe human attributes to other animals.  No animal has a tantrum
9. What do ferrets drink?
water
10. How do ferrets climb?
Not sure I understand.  They can climb, but they are not tree dwellers.  They have claws.
11. Do ferrets like to take things? If yes why do you think so?
Most carnivores cache food items since they often kill an animal larger than they can eat at once.  Stealing behavior is a remnant behavior related to storing food.
12. Is it better to have a neutered or non-neutered ferret?
Always neutered.
13. How do you entertain a ferret?
There is a ton of information on-line or in "Ferrets for Dummies" about enrichment
14. What provokes them?
Don't understand this one.
15. How quickly do they fall asleep
Depends on the ferret, just like us
16. What is your favorite thing about ferrets?
Their ability to enjoy a huge variety of things
17. Where should you not let a ferret go in your house?
Ferrets can fit into any space the size of their heads, so any place they are allowed should be ferret proof
18. What nicknames (if any) do you have for your ferret.
People often call them carpet sharks and other things
19. How do you tell them apart
Ferrets have different patterns and coloration.
20. Why did you become a ferret expert
I am certified in animal behavior and working on my masters in animal behavior and I have had ferrets for years.
