allergies to ferrets

Hello... I was wondering if you could tell me if there has been a study done on people being allergic to ferrets?I have been seaching the internet and read many many books but can't seem to find any information on this...I have five ferrets and my husband and son are allergic to cats and many other things but they dont seem to be bothered by the ferrets...I have questioned their doctor and he wasn't sure if there had even been any studies done...thank you so much for you time.

I have actually heard the exact same thing from many other folks who are allergic to cats and dogs and have no allergy to ferrets.   That's not to say they couldn't develop an allergy somewhere down the road, but for the time being, enjoy the fact that they can have these wonderful creatures in your home and enjoy the love and life they bring to your home.

There are no ferret-specific allergy studies as such that I'm aware of.
