hi. I've had my ferret for about 2 years and recently i've notice her tail is sensitve when i bathe her and otherwise for that matter. It is a light orangey color and i'm not sure what to do i've put baby oil on it but i had to wash it off because she started licking it off. help would be much appretiated. and if yout would know how to keep ants out of her food bowl, that would be awsome. any litter training tips wouldn't be ignored either.  Thank you.

Hi Adrian:

Orange tail is caused by excessive oil in your ferret's system and can generally be a precursor of adrenal disease.  You can give the tail a good scrubbing with an acne skin medication - you will probably find some blackheads underneath the orange fur and this will help clear these up too.  Be careful not to let him lick the soap off of this and rinse and dry it well when finished.
