Ferret Behavior

Question
For my science project this year, I'm planning on basing it on ferret behavior. I have decided to see how they act around other animals. I have 3 ferrets, 3 dogs, a cat and an iguana. I need some background knowledge before I go into further depth of my project. Do you think ferrets act controlled around other animals?

Any information or advice for my science project would be greatly appreciated.

I would trust ferrets around cats, but not around dogs or an iguana.  Your best resources will be Ferrets for Dummies by Kim Schilling which has a section on ferrets and other pets and possibly a book by John Lewington.  Mostly veterinary based, but has a small section on behavior.  There isn't a lot published on ferret behavior, Ferretcentral.org (maybe com) would be another great place to start looking.
