Question
Alright I have 5 ferrets and i have questions about some of
them. I just got 2 new ferrets, Jack who is 6 months old and
Harley who is 2 and a half months old. Jack is a big trouble
maker and i have a lot of problems with him and Harley is
just fine. My other three Buster who is 4, Frankie who is 3,
and Krystal who is 5 are just fine except with Frankie I
tried litter box training him but he refuses to go in the
litter box so now none of them go in the litter box which is
a huge mess and is really annoying. Jack is the one I need
the most help with though. Since i got him he has refused to
eat the food I have which is cat food and instead for his
food he likes to eat the beds they sleep in. Yeah that's
right he likes to eat there beds and his poop is the color
of the bed and is really stringy. He has chewed holes
through 2 of em and i only have 3 and i feel bad for the
others cause im not putting another bed in that cage until
he stops eating them. Can someone please answer these
question for me how i can make my ferrets go in the litter
box and how I can stop Jack from eating the beds it would be
very appreciated.

Answer
I am going to address the fabric eating issue since it is an important health issue.  First, please switch your ferrets to a high quality ferret food (Totally Ferret or Natural Gold) since cat food is not nutritionally right for a ferret.  It is recommended that you switch foods slowly, so you may need to start him up again with his old food as you switch to a ferret food.  Please remove the bedding from his cage so he can't eat it anymore and take him to the vet for a health check as he can easily have a blockage.
